Tweet| Francesca Thompson 4 Posts | moving from OCR!We've finally had enough of our management making us explain 'again' why our AS results are sooooo bad (38% A-C) and A2 are S00000 fabulous! Having been on a notice to improve for 2 years and having exhausted all possible strategies to improve AS sucess rates, we decided yesterday to jump ship!! We'll be teaching edexcel from Monday -any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

| Kim lowles 27 Posts | Why EdExcel? Are you sure that is the best board to jump to? I would be more inclined to go for AQA or WJEC to raise your result profile. That is only a personal opinion though from having had experience of Edexcel before I moved to AQA years ago.

| Linda Mortimer ★ 242 Posts | It's horses for courses really. I have left WJEC as it did not suit our students at all. Too much emphasis on literacy skills for my mixed ability group of students. I've gone to AQA b but didn't have great AS results as I don't think we did enough exam practice, even though I thought we did loads.

| Cara Flanagan ★ 220 Posts | You might be interested to look at a comparison of % passes for each exam board for 2010, 2009 and 2008 - I have just published this at http://www.oxfordschoolblogs.co.uk/psychcompanion/blog/ (the new home for the Folens blog) The fact that the different boards probably do attract slightly different cohorts mean that direct comparisons are not possible but there are certainly some major differences in pass rates. |
