Explaining the concept of COMMENTARY for A02: Students (AS & A2) always have difficulty providing commentary and elaborating on A02 points so I use the analogy of a football commentator...
I explain that a football commentator doesn't just say...'Rooney kicked the ball! but goes on to say where, what happened, what would happen if he hadn't done something etc...
So they shouldn't just write...Lacks ecological validity but go on to say how, why...
I also use the SO WHAT??? During Q & A when gaining evaluation points...At first they think I'm being rude but now they understand I'm asking for more and an elaboration...
If they reply 'the study used only men' I say 'SO WHAT?' and usually get a more elaborated answer from them.
